I appreciate the talent he has, definitely, but why it is always – or so it seems – slap & pop these days? In a lot of ways it all sounds the same; it's boring! Just my opinion.

I'd really love to hear more of this guy. His harmonics mastering and chord progression knowledge is beyond that of most other faster playing (which is often mistaken for "better") bassists.
He might not be the best; but he's up there with the bests. At least in terms of musical understanding, knowledge and mastering of his instrument.
