Can anyone tell me or give me a reason whey Marcus Miller has the neck pickup with a special cover over it? Does that have to do with just another way to alter the sound he wants to get out of his bass?

No matter how many Bass players are on stage, I can always recognize Marcus's tone ,he has a very distinctive bottom end to his technique
