what song is this

@iamalaser4185 says:

This is not what "musicians" hear on stage. This is what specific kinds of musicians in one particular genre with one particular set of gear and conventions hear.

@carl13220 says:

I already knew it, without being a pro musician 🙂

@Fenkreg says:

dont lie to yourself, no one thinks what you hear, unfortunately~

@aask86 says:

Name song/music ?

@DaveMcleanJr says:

I don't want the click when the drummer is playing. I prefer to play to the drummer who usually is playing to the click.

@artbyjuwecurfew1896 says:

imagine that but slipknnot

@venus_envy says:

Ah, so this is only for musicians that wear an ear piece during the concerts. For musicians that never did, I'm guessing it's way different.

Metronome on live stage feels very annoying

@mclovinlife4018 says:

I’ve always wondered that. thanks

@Youcandoit735 says:

What processor are you using?

@janex721 says:

Good thing you dont hear the bassist

@sophdog1678 says:

It's true. I can't sing if there's any foldback or venue reverb coming live to my ears, as it keeps me thinking I have to adjust my pitch because I trick myself (from the reverb) that I am flat or sharp. Once I have earphones, with just our instruments coming through, I sing along to that just fine. So yes, some of us HAVE to block out reverb, crowd noise etc. unfortunately.

@G1NZOU says:

Some people might think this isn't genuine, but The Beatles were put off from doing a lot of live shoes because at one point the crowd cheering was so loud they couldn't hear themselves playing.

@TruFaze-dr7zt says:

The years that I've played live. I've never used a tempo meter. 🤔

@andrewmccormack4295 says:

I've used IEMs for several years now and I love them, the click track is great to have also. With IEs you don't need the stage cluttered with foldback monitors which really make the stage look messy.

@Isuru9x9 says:

Talkback jokes

@andrewridgway560 says:

I hear no click track because I'm a drummer. I AM the click track, and the rest of my band plays to me

@Ailasor says:

and now this is what the local small band on a shitty venue hear noooothing

@HeavensBlueWeb says:

I guess I must be a weirdo
I used to be a backup singer for a worship band a lifetime ago and because my brain was wired differently I could never have the vocals in my ear. For some reason my brain would comprehend what I was singing unless I herd everything. So I trained myself to sing without it in my ear, and I could focus better on what I was singing. Now I understand why that happened, when someone has ADHD the chaos actually makes it easier to focus more. Because ADHD is a result of childhood trauma. Now that I have worked through my trauma, I can't do that anymore.

@JedTaneo says:

You have a drummer but you still have clicks. The drummer should be the click. I still like music that is raw and more human.

@headmates_in_dreams3881 says:

As a future musician, this feels pretty lonely😢
But I'm curious about knowing more, I have so many questions!🙈🙈

@ChrisSmithBass says:

If your band uses IEMs then yes that’s what they hear, the band I’m in now uses them and it’s 100% accurate. However, MOST of my career was getting to hear it exactly like the first example 😊 and it truly is the best feeling in the world. There are still plenty of amazing and/or famous bands that use wedges.
