Very well done video. I guess I knew most of what was presented but I did learn a few things on the history of guitars. Both gentlemen did a nice job. Thank you.
Does anyone know how long ago this was recorded? I’ve seen Jack van Breen in some recent videos, courtesy of Totally Guitars and he’s a lot younger in this clip. (no offense Jack. Aging is certainly better that the alternative).

hey, i’d like you’re opinion on something. i recently purchased a Fender Stratacoustic, and to be honest, the neck gives great action but I’m not really satisfied with the sound unplugged. I’ve been thinking of selling it and buying a Takamine instead. What do you think?

I have had an ovation for quite a while and love playing the thing (though it can be uncomfortable to hold due to its curved back) and didnt know the history of it …. the veitnam war angle and glenn miller etc ….. thanks for the enlightenment .

Norman for under $500 is an outstanding acoustic guitar. If I were to be buying an acoustic guitar tomorrow, I`d be looking at Norman guitars.
BTW, these guys rock. They`re like `Ok we`re about of time… Well…. let`s play a bit` and then they break out into a jam. The big guy reminds me of the owner of my local store, who looks like him, and does the same thing.

Thank you, Great show ! I was wondering if you can answer me on this question? On one of my acoustic guitar I play with a medium gauge string set, do you think if I change my strings to a light gauge set it is going to change the intonation, and needs a Luther Job?

Wow if you ever want to play guitar and think you cant, please please don’t listen to these idiots, yes if we all had the money for gibsons or martins or taylors, we would all be twats.
Seagulls are inexpensive, but I’ve seen some that sounded absolutely AWESOME. They also use a short scale (like a J-45 Gibson- about 25”) which makes it easier to play for a person with weaker hands.

Researchers who found a rock dating back 3,500 years during excavations in Alacahöyük district of the central Anatolian province of Çorum have determined that an illustration on the rock resembles a guitar to a great extent.

The Gibson J-200 was introduced in 1938, the name was changed to SJ200 in 1939 to avoid confusion with the Advanced jumbo, a dreadnought style guitar introduced in 1936 that competed directly and unfortunately somewhat unsuccessfully against the Martin D-28. They got right that the older, (esp pre WWII) “family heriloom” guitars can be staggeringly valuable making it a good idea to have them appraised by a reputable house like Mandolin Brothers and get them insured for what they are worth.
This is so wrong! No one knows who “invented” the guitar. Images of guitar like instruments go back over three thousand years to the Hittites. Were all stringed instruments invented by left handed people? The non dominant hand works the fingerboard on the violin and all viol family instruments, the Japanese samisen, Nordic and the later Rennaissance lutes, the Indian Sitars. Such an authority!
“You only need a nylon string guitar if you want to play classical music.” One word. Flamenco!
