Get a tuner, or, if you have a smartphone, their are multiple apps for tuning.

I like you approach. I have online lessons as well, though not as professional as yours. As an instructor to another, I would greatly appreciate it if you could include how to properly address a note. And maybe some input on how to position your fret hand. I have seen too many beginners give up because they simply can't get comfortable holding the guitar. As experienced guitarists we tend to forget that it is not a natural act, though it is for us. Overall, though, very good lesson.
