Hotel California intro guitar lesson

Learn how to play the intro to Hotel California (The Eagles). Taught by Teague Purtell. Chord graphs found on link below:

This is not note for note but very close and the reason for doing this without a capo is so you can strum the chords in the verse and chorus without a capo. Otherwise, you have to remove the capo when the strumming starts or play the chords up high on the neck. I like the big open chords so I don’t want to use the capo.

Glenn plays the song live on a 12 string with the capo on the 2nd fret. If you like big open chords you could try playing it the way he does. I've tried it before it sounds pretty cool. Doesn't make the fingerings for the intro part any easier though. Time to get a double neck! lol
