It isn´t. It takes a lot (I mean A LOT) less pressure on the strings to play them, as the tension on the nylon strings is about half (so they´re softer); and there´s more room on the fretboard to move your fingers about (even little ones). And that helps when you´re starting and lack precision (even little hands).
Also the guitar wasn´t invented by 1 guy: Nobody really knows how it appeared. There are 2 theories; one being evolution from the lute. Another the introduction by the Arabs via Spain.
